Toyota Starlet KP6 series A Special Car

Okay, for the good part of this blog. What makes the Toyota Starlet so special?

The Toyota Starlet can be seen on almost all form of Motorsports from drag, drift, rally, gymkhana, slalom and time attack due to its characteristics listed below:

LIGHTWEIGHT

First and foremost, the Starlet is very light car. It only weighs 1724 lbs on US standard bumpers, with the JDM metal bumpers it amazingly weighs 1680 lbs. Remove other comfort creatures such as A/C and heater system that can shed another 40lbs off the books! Replace the stock batteries with small dry cell racing batteries such a Braille or Odyssey brand, you get to shed another 10 to 15 lbs. Replace the stock seats, with racing bucket seats thats another 8-10 lbs. There are other ways to save weight such as body parts replacement with lighter materials. What does lightness do to a car? It makes it more agile and faster of course. How serious is this weight configuration compared to other cars? A Lotus Elise Series 2 weighs at approximately 1900 lbs with a power of 189bhp. Due to its lightweight built the measly unflattering 189bhp can propel the Elise to a 4.9 sec 0-60 run. The Starlet has professed its speed through on being light by posting a 6.84 seconds @ 201 mph on the drag strip.

AGILITY

Due to the Starlet's weight and short wheelbase the car can maneuver some of the tightest corners in motor sport such as in gymkhana and slalom.

The Starlet has also been used in Drift circuits but in my opinion the Starlet is suited more for biting the pavement instead of sliding

MODULAR

Why did I say modular? The Starlet can be easily configured as easy to whatever application its intended use. It's engine bay may look small but it can be very deceiving since you can actually swap myriad of different engines from a hayabusa engine to rotaries to diverse 4 cylinder engines to short block 6 cylinder motor up to a V8, yes a V8!
